Ett Gott Slut och Ett Gott Nytt År

I apologize for the headline in Swedish, but I do not know another language in which I can say it the same way and I also think, that this way is really famous. It is a tradition, which unfortunately is not very common anymore, to wish a happy end of the ongoing year and a Happy New Year. Between Christmas as well as around the first week of the new year we say: God fortsättning (“good continuation”). I think, that is unusual for other cultures, as well.

There are always god things and bad things. The good thing is, that I have signed a contract for an other apartment. Meanwhile I have one room as living room and bedroom, I will have a living room and a bedroom from 1^st April next year. During the two summers I was living in this apartment, I missed a balcony. In my new apartment there is one, even it is small. I also will have a nicer view from all of my windows. I will look at a forest. This is not all. When I finally have moved, I will write more about it, but that one thing I have to tell you now. Even the new apartment has 17 more sq m than the one I rent now, it is around 400 SEK cheaper as this one.

The bad thing during the last week or even 10 days, was that I have a problem with my stomach. It does not fit into the description of COVID-19. Though I will spent New Years Eve with my son Samuel and his family and stay at his place for a couple of days. I am going by train, because of different circumstances, but I booked a seat in a first class car. All seats have a table there and naturally more distance to the next seat. Of the two seats on the side of each other, only the window seats were able to book. I will wear my face mask, of course. I really hope, all will go well, but I just have to see them and to give my grandchildren their Christmas gift.
