My Route for Mexico

I planned my route for Mexico month ago after I read about all the beautiful and interesting things there are. Unfortunately I found out, that I would need more than a year and become very stressed if I would follow that route strictly. Though I had to change and I have had time enough to do it, because I could not start travelling as soon as I wished.

Here is my second try and it is roughly planned, open for changes:

Tijuana (it was my last destination of my RTW-trip, part 1, though I decided to continue from there)

Baja California and Baja California Sur to La Paz (where I have got a helpx host and will stay for a month to improve my Spanish)

Eastward bound: Los Mochis – Copper Canyon – Hermosillo – Chihuahua – Melchor – Monterey – Ciudad Victoria – Tampico – Xalapa – Veracruz – Villahermosa – Campeche – Merida – Cancun  Tulum –> Belize

Northbound: Back to Mexico (from Belize or via Guatemala) – San Cristobal de las Casas – Tuxtla Gutierrez – Oaxaca – Mexico city – Morela – Guanjuato – Aquascalientes – Zacatecas – Durango – Culiacan

Southbound: Mazatlan – Puerto Vallarta – Guadalajara – Colima (with Carrizalillos Lake) – Urupan – Cardenas – Acapulco – Santa Cruz – Salina Cruz – Tapachula –> Guatemala
