Hello,

On this and the relating sites I will tell you how I prepared for my years of travelling the world. I became 65 years old in 2015. Therefore a lot of hints are for 60+ travellers, especially for you, who have had the dream all the time, but could not manage it. The items also are about budget travelling and by that interesting for all, who want to start travelling – not regarding to any age. There is no need for planning for five years in a row. My information can be useful for shorter trips, too.

What do I think is important and what is possible to do while travelling? I hope I can help you to prepare your own travel – and by the way there are travel writers, who can tell you more. I have not found any European yet, but I am sure there are. Meanwhile I recommend the blog of Nomadic Matt. I find his blog useful.

There are some important things to think about:

The Budget

The Possible

The Route

Your Family and Friends

Volunteering

The Packlist

Important: Do not forget your vaccination. Look for an official site where you can read about, which vaccinations you need. In addition to that, you might take the vaccinations you have got as a child, e.g. diphtheria one more time, they do not last forever. Even the new vaccines are better, they only give you safety for 20 or 30 years.

If you think I forgot an item, please contact me by email: dorotheeinternational ( at ) gmail ( dot ) com. I will be happy to add it.

See you on the road!
Dorothee
